In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Ready For The World is joining with others to offer support to the people and communities affected by this devastating and catastrophic event.
Our thoughts go out to everyone who may be suffering as a result of Hurricane Harvey, and to the thousands of volunteers and officials involved in the rescue and recovery operation; their sacrifice and selflessness has been nothing short of incredible.
We chose the Salvation Army which is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

RFTW have returned to the music scene

July 1st 2017 — Veteran multi-platinum group & producers, RFTW, have returned to the music scene.

On their long overdue comeback set, which is being introduced by its slinky, mid-tempo lead offering, “Tattoo,” Ready for the World are back like they never left, ushering in their sorely missed, much needed signature sound and style in an otherwise stale musical climate. Their forthcoming, brand new stellar collection, due out fourth quarter 2017, is chocked-full of stand-
out, future, smash hits.

‘We plan to maintain that smooth R&B sound that people have grown to identify us by, yet implement today’s sound.”

About RFTW: Hailing from Flint, Michigan, the original “Bad Boys of R&B,” comprised of founding member/lead vocalist, Melvin Riley, along with lead guitarist, Gordon Strozier, keyboardist, Gregory Potts, the aforementioned Triplett, bass guitarist, John Eaton and Gerald Valentine on drums, first emerged on the scene way back in the early eighties. After garnering a devoted local fan following, largely due to their more-than impressive “live” performances, the popular “Buick City” band soon caught the attention of a MCA Records’ exec, who quickly signed the group to the, then, reputable/now defunct, major record company.

Their, now, classic, eponymous debut arrived in 1985, spawning a succession of single entries; “Tonight,” “Deep Inside Your Love,” “Oh Sheila,” “Digital Display,” “Slide Over” and Ceramic Girl. And, the rest is history…Still in the making.

“We decided to show our passion in a way that hasn’t been heard in the past. We grew up on different styles of music in the late ’70’s/early ’80’s, so our influences range from Cameo to Air Supply. We are now displaying the talents,” Willie answers emphatically when asked as to what prompted them to experiment some with their already in existence award-winning formula, and then concludes with their current game plan, “This new album will be exploited worldwide as we take advantage of the many tools over the internet to reach such a wide range audience. Tools such as Topspin, Reverbnation and Google Analytics will be used to measure progress and to further analyze areas that may need a more concentrated effort.”
